Blendz Smoothie Shop – Chef & Owner

 

For as long as I can remember, cooking has always been a part of my life. Some of my early cooking memories were baking pies and cookies with my mom, and smelling fresh baked bread at my grandmothers.

At age 12 my mother dropped me off at my first cooking class, which led to many more. Through those classes I learned all the culinary basics from making fresh soup stock to handmade pasta.

It was around that time I developed a passion for smoothies. Even as a kid, healthy snacks were an important part of my after-school routine. I needed fuel to carry me through to our notoriously late family dinners.

It was no surprise to my family and friends when I got accepted into a 3 year culinary administration program at Canadore College. The program taught me all about french cuisine, how to develop a menu, how a kitchen runs, and how to open a restaurant.

My work experience includes catering for private events, baking at the Opera Bakery and Orchards Fresh Food Market, and cooking as well as serving at the Nook Creperie.

I was so excited when Kara offered me the opportunity to open a small smoothie shop in her new wellness centre. Nothing goes better than yoga and smoothies! I’m so excited to offer you fresh, real food that you can feel good about.
